Mortein PowerGard products are known for their fast action and the ability to create a residual barrier that continues killing pests on surfaces for several months.
There are generally three main types of Mortein PowerGard aerosol sprays, depending on the target insect and intended use:
1. Crawling Insect Killer (Surface Spray)
This is the most common PowerGard variant and is designed to tackle pests like cockroaches, ants, and spiders.
Key Feature: Offers a long-reach spray (up to 2 metres) for a fast kill on contact, and provides residual protection on sprayed surfaces that can last for up to 6 to 9 months indoors.
Best For: Spraying surfaces where crawling insects hide, such as skirting boards, under cabinets, behind refrigerators, and in cracks and crevices.
2. Flying Insect Killer
This product is formulated for rapid action against airborne pests.
Key Feature: Kills flies, mosquitoes, and moths in seconds. It can also offer residual control for flies for up to 8 hours when applied to surfaces.
Best For: Killing flying insects in the air and for applying to surfaces where they commonly land, such as window sills and door frames.
3. Multi Insect Killer
This is an all-in-one aerosol designed for general household use.
Key Feature: Kills both flying and crawling insects instantly. It targets pests like flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches, spiders, and ants.
Best For: A general purpose spray when you need quick, multi-pest control across the house.
